**Job Summary:**
As a Mechanical Engineer at Ergotronix Inc., you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative electro-mechanical products like work positioners, lifters, and transporters to enhance customer work efficiency. Your responsibilities will include adapting existing designs to meet client requirements, creating detailed documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role will involve developing custom solutions in a fast-paced environment, focusing on the creation of technical manuals for custom projects.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop clear, concise, and customized technical manuals for each customer's unique designs.
- Adapt existing mechanical designs to fulfill new customer needs.
- Create new electro-mechanical products that align with customer demands.
- Produce support documentation, including machine shop drawings, for engineering projects.
- Select materials based on cost, availability, and manufacturability criteria.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing on parts supply and fabrication.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to improve efficiency.
- Engage directly with customers to address application-specific challenges and provide tailored solutions.
- Engineer custom solutions in a fast-paced design environment, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Undertake diverse tasks and projects, demonstrating versatility and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Assist in the implementation and integration of ERP software.
**Qualifications:**
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience: At least 2 years of engineering experience in design or manufacturing, preferably focusing on electromechanical systems.
- Portfolio: Demonstrated design capabilities with examples of previous projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, DraftSight).
- Practical mechanical knowledge with an understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
- Familiarity with assembly and fabrication tools and techniques.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong complex problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and coordinate with vendors for project success.
