Job DetailsMechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of mechanical building systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering innovative engineering solutions.
This has an option to WFH 1/week
Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, system layouts, and engineering calculations.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation analysis, equipment sizing, and system selection.
- Develop and maintain BIM/Revit models and coordinated design drawings.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and existing conditions assessments.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout all project phases.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and provide technical support during construction.
- Assist in cost estimating, value engineering, and project planning activities.
- Research emerging technologies and sustainable design solutions to improve building performance.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, engineering, or building systems design.
- Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or institutional facilities preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM software, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with load calculation software and mechanical design standards.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or other relevant industry certification.
- Experience with sustainable design principles, LEED projects, or energy-efficient building systems.
- Previous experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams.
