Overview Suncoast Post Tension, Ltd., a Keller company, is an established post-tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our eight facilities in the US.We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in SolidWorks, 3D modeling, and full-cycle product development to join our Research & Development team. This role is responsible for taking concepts from initial idea through detailed design, prototyping, and support of manufacturing equipment development. The ideal candidate thrives in an innovative environment and is passionate about designing and improving mechanical systems. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and other CAD toolsCreate detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings for manufacturingWork with team members to drive projects from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and implementationCollaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and operationsDevelop and refine concepts for new manufacturing equipment and process improvementsPerform engineering analysis, simulations, and tolerance stack-ups to ensure design integritySupport prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, proof of function and validation activities in a fabrication shop environment.Work closely with vendors and suppliers on fabrication and material selectionEnsure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standardsDocument design processes, changes, and technical specifications Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldRequired Background3+ years of experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or R&D environmentProficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings)Experience with concept-to-design development of mechanical systems or equipmentStrong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.)Experience with prototyping and product testingPreferred QualificationsExperience designing custom manufacturing equipment or automation systemsFamiliarity with FEA, GD&T, and tolerance analysisHands-on experience in a lab or prototype shop environmentKnowledge of materials, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control systemsKnowledge Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork skillsFamiliarity with Six Sigma design methodologies, DFSS, DOE, Taguchi Methods and TRIZ.Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk and use hands to hold and operate objects, tools, or controls Able to reach with hands, arms, kneel, bend, crouch, climb ladders/stairs and twist body if necessaryCombination of office, lab and manufacturing floor exposureExposure to hot and cold environments based on climate conditions Additional Information Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by lawBenefits:401(k) + matching Health, Dental, Vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time off (PTO)Holiday PaySuncoast Post-Tension is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
