Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our clients growing team.
Summary:
Mechanical Engineer III will apply their professional and technical expertise to designing mechanical engineering concepts and options that align with the owners vision for each project. This individual should have a solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and the contractual documents which are involved.
Responsibilities
Determine the scope of assigned projects and utilize software programs to create the mechanical engineering designs including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, or other mechanical systems
Determine cost-effective system layouts, quantities/sizes, and specifications, and verify code compliance of the system designs
Preparation and layout of BIM drawings and coordination with all other disciplines at all phases of project production, including schematic design phase, design development phase, permitting phase, and construction documents phase
Perform construction administration tasks including, but not limited to, site observations, shop drawing review, and preparation of punch lists
Define appropriate project scope and ensure it is accurately reflected in the contract documents; proactively manage any possible scope of work variances to ensure client satisfaction and that projects stay on track
Maintain excellent business relationships and communication with clients, partners, architects, owners, other design and construction professionals, and various code officials regarding the overall engineering project, associated assignments, and action items
Support with mentoring more inexperienced mechanical designers

Required:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
5 plus years of mechanical engineering design of commercial buildings. Preferably in aviation, higher education, health care, hospitality, or government facilities
Experience with a variety of project deliverable methods including design-build, design-bid-construct, fast-track and other construction delivery methods
Revit Proficiency
2 plus years of experience coordinating with multi discipline engineering teams.
Ability to prepare original specifications for project systems and components, as well as complete project manuals with sub-consultant specifications
