Mechanical Engineer 
Pay Range: 60 - 75/hr, W 2

Summary:

• Location: Houston, TX
• Duration: 1 year
• Work Mode: Hybrid - Mon, Tues, Thurs in office / Weds, Fri at home

Responsibilities:

• Design large horsepower (10,000 to 30,000 Company) turbine and electrical motor-driven centrifugal compressor stations.
• Oversee the development of project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks, and supporting information for assigned facility projects.
• Ensure all facilities comply with regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards.
• Manage the execution of design deliverables by third-party engineering firms against the project budget and schedule.
• Review and approve design deliverables such as drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
• Review vendor materials quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend selections based on technical merit, price, and delivery.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of the project.
• Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporate recommendations into future designs.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.
• Support and/or lead department initiatives as required.
• Ensure development project scope definitions comply with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups.

Requirements:

• BSME Engineering degree.
• 7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.

Preferred Skills:

• PE designation.
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, and manage change.
• Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
• Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge.
• Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team.
• Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff.
