    Description

    Mechanical Engineer – Product & Manufacturing Support 

    Onsite in Houston Texas

    We are seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Engineer to support and improve our high‑reliability process electronic analyzers used in demanding industrial and hazardous environments. This role connects design, manufacturing, and field performance to ensure our instruments meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support and optimize manufacturing processes for analytical instruments and subassemblies.

    • Design assembly fixtures, test fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency and repeatability.

    • Perform failure analysis on production and field issues; drive root‑cause and corrective actions.

    • Maintain and update standardized product documentation and change requests.

    • Provide CAD modeling/drafting for fixtures and product updates.

    • Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D, and Field Service teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience with small electronic assemblies and mechanical packaging.

    • Knowledge of analytical sensors/detectors (GC or similar preferred).

    • Familiarity with hazardous‑area certification (ATEX, IECEx, NEC).

    • Strong root‑cause analysis skills (5‑Why, Fishbone, FMEA).

    • Exceptional attention to detail and configuration control.

    • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.

    Education & Experience

    • Preferred: B.S. Mechanical Engineering + 10 years relevant experience.

    • Alternative: A.S. in engineering + 15 years progressive experience with strong documentation control.

    • Desired: Prior military technical/maintenance background.
