Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years of experience in aerospace interiors preferred or a closely related manufacturing environment (preferred, not required).
Proficiency with CATIA for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation and checking, plus AutoCAD and PLM systems.
Ability to design complex integrated kinematic assemblies, including component and assembly-level integration.
Design of composites forming, CNC machining, sheet metal forming, thermoforming, metals, plastics, and composites.
CATIA programming (BVA or CAT Scrip) preferred.
Windchill or similar PLM administration experience preferred.
Plumbing systems design and integration experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Design products by defining and executing engineering concepts, including material and process selections, to meet specification, schedule, and budget requirements.
Create, check, and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using required CAD tools.
Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, certification, stress, and electrical engineering to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and optimize designs to meet cost, weight, volume, and quality targets, and ensure designs are manufacturable and assembly through cross-functional input.
Provide technical support for design proposals, customer and internal presentations, vendor inquiries, and project tracking to ensure accurate and timely completion.
