As part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Group, you'll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate workload to complete the document on scheduleConduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesReview mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment, mechanical systems and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed‑upon changes into the project documentsProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasisA minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsHealthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experienceExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not requiredPreference given to candidates who currently reside in the Mid‑Atlantic (VA/MD/DC) areaRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsProfessional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng))Experience in commercial or institutional facilitiesComputer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.We consider all qualified applicants, regardless of criminal histories, arrest and conviction records.#J-18808-Ljbffr
