Position Details
- Location: Hybrid at our Camas office
- Salary: $86,653 - $124,862 annually
Primary Function
The Mechanical Designer II will design and validate mechanical subsystems and assemblies for manufacturing equipment, measurement instruments, and consumer products with moderate supervision. Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure customer and product requirements are met.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities
- Design complete subsystems and modules with some supervision for validation
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and comprehensive 2D drawings
- Independently document designs and design intent with appropriate tolerances
- Consistently meet Quality System Documentation and Process requirements
- Provide design solutions for product improvements, cost reductions, and manufacturing changes
- Communicate requirements clearly to teammates and stakeholders
- Participate in customer meetings with senior staff support
- Manage individual project components and contribute to project goals
- Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent plus 3-5 years related experience
- Proficient with parametric 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, NX preferred)
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles and application
- Understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques
- Developing problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good teamwork and communication skills with growing independence
- Demonstrate commitment to SIGMADESIGN Core Values
- Proficient computer skills including CAD, office applications, and PLM systems
- Pass post-offer background verification
Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office-related conditions. Occasionally may be exposed to metal dust, tools, and machinery found in a manufacturing environment.
