In this role, you'll help bring advanced battery systems from concept to reality—designing, validating, and optimizing solutions that are safe, scalable, and built to last.What You'll Do As a Mechanical Engineer II, you'll play a hands-on, high-impact role throughout the product lifecycle.Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design of battery modules and enclosures with a focus on thermal management, structural integrity, and safetyTranslate early concepts into robust, production-ready designsPartner closely with Electrical Engineering to design busbars, wire harnesses, and PCB mounting solutionsEnsure proper creepage and clearance for high-voltage applicationsCreate detailed blueprint drawings and technical specificationsPerform QA/QC reviews of peer designs to ensure accuracy and manufacturabilityApply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to ensure proper fit and functionLead DFMEA sessions to proactively identify and mitigate riskDevelop and execute DVP&R plansOversee physical testing for vibration, thermal performance, ingress protection, and crash requirementsDevelop comprehensive assembly documentationProvide hands-on support on the manufacturing floorTroubleshoot production challenges using 8D root-cause analysisServe as a technical mentor to junior engineers and designersHelp train team members on CAD best practices and SOPsAct as Project Engineer for assigned product lines, coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams (Electrical, Thermal, Software)Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field3+ years of professional mechanical design experience (Battery systems, automotive, power conversion, or aerospace experience strongly preferred)Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor (CSWA/CSWP or equivalent certification a plus)Strong understanding of:Material selection (plastics, sheet metal, busbars)Thermal interface materialsDFM/DFA best practicesPreferred Experience Experience with lithium-based battery systemsBackground in Formula SAE, Solar Car, or similar hands-on engineering competitionsA mindset that views challenges as opportunities to innovate and improveWhy Lithionics Innovative products that make a real-world impactEnd-to-end engineering exposure—from concept through productionA collaborative, technically driven cultureOpportunity to grow into technical leadership rolesCompetitive compensation and benefitsReady to Power What's Next?
