Job Description: This position requires the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks and assisting in the mechanical design cycle of product development. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will also work in cooperation with the sales and manufacturing staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of new and existing productsUse Solidworks 3D software to design, evaluate, and archive product documentationReview design specifications and requirements under direction, develop designs to best support them including cost as a design variableAssist in the evaluation and troubleshooting of productsDevelop bill of materials, methods of manufacturing, and costing analysis, as neededTroubleshoot product performance issues reported by sales and customer service teamsUpdate engineering manager with regular reporting of progress and statusSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesOther duties may be assignedDesign Project ManagementEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering requiredExtensive experience with Solidworks 3D and Solidworks PDM preferredExperience with mechanical design using metals, plastics and rubberStrong attention to detailWorks independently and with minimal supervisionExperience with Product Design preferredExcellent organizational and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office softwareAbility to travel as neededMinimum 3 years experience required.Starting salary directly related to experience and capabilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
