  • SCHEDULE: On-Site. Must commute to North Reading, MA and Westborough, MA 5 days/week
  • DURATION: 7 month contract with potential for extension

Overview:

Mechanical Engineer will ensure products leave manufacturing fully tested and validated. Work involves collaboration with test, process, controls, and design engineers to:

  • Design and execute testing solutions (manual and automated)
  • Prototype and iterate designs
  • Fabricate components
  • Test equipment in real-world environments

Group: Manufacturing Test and Controls Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams
  • Perform engineering analysis and maintain documentation
  • Work professionally with SolidWorks
  • Execute full product lifecycle: concept design prototyping testing validation
  • Conduct engineering modeling and hand calculations
  • Perform FEA (ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation)
  • Design mechanical subsystems (motors, actuators, sensors, safety systems)
  • Create documentation (design specs, drawings, validation plans, compliance, maintenance)

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience with strong engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience in design, prototyping, build, and iteration (rapid prototyping)
  • Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Experience with PLM systems
  • Ability to commute full-time onsite (North Reading & Westborough, MA)
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills (written & verbal)

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Knowledge of electromechanical and control systems
  • Experience with Oracle Agile PLM

This is a Contract position based out of Westborough, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.74/hr.
