Manufacturing Mechanical Quality Engineer (Manufacturing, Production, Quality, ISO, Heat Exchanger)About the PositionAltex is developing high-performance heat exchangers and thermal management systems for use in military and commercial energy and power markets. The military product line is growing substantially, and a position is open for a dynamic candidate with an engineering background for maintaining the quality of the final product by managing the quality of the parts and assemblies that are delivered by the suppliers and contract manufacturers, to ensure that the MIL SPEC product meets the required quality standard and the specifications for shipment to the customer. The position requires a BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, with a degree (MS) or BS Minor in Quality, with 2 years of experience with Quality related to mechanical systems. Position and responsibilities will be based on candidate review.The candidate who shows superior capabilities in some or all of the below job functions will be considered:Quality, ISO 9001:2015, and AS9102B knowledge and experienceHands-on system inspection which meets quality and CMM requirementsInteracting with suppliers and contract manufacturers for quality delivery and FAIInteracting with customer quality team for meeting the customer quality requirementsConduct tests on inbound materials from suppliers and outbound products for shippingFamiliarity with Solid modeling and design, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phaseCreate comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were takenEducate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product qualityCreate process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental managersReview of hardware defects, and identification of systemic root causes and process improvementsProduction of reportsRequirementsBachelors or Master Degrees in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, with Quality degree or emphasisTwo years of Quality experienceQMS and ISO 9001:2015 experiencePrevious experience with mechanical systems or component assembly and deliverySolidworks experience and stackup tolerance verificationSkilled in documenting activities and maintaining recordsAbility to manage time, resources and staffAbility to direct techniciansGood communication and team working skillsComfortable working in a rapid pace environment, and handling multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience working in an ISO 9001 compliant environmentPersonal AttributesMotivated, creative, and committedPositive, with “can do” attitudeQuick learnerCapable of working in a small and innovative company environmentCommunicative and a team playerGood analytical skillsCompany Overview and BenefitsAltex Technologies Corporation (www.altextech.com) has been developing and commercializing innovative energy solutions, which are clean, quiet, efficient, and cost-effective, since 1985.
