Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessel and Tank Design

Oxford Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team in a full-time, onsite role. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design work, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating closely with fabrication teams. A current Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform and review engineering calculations for pressure vessels, tanks, and related structures
- Produce design drawings, 3D models, and fabrication packages using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Develop, review, and maintain fabrication and assembly procedures in accordance with ASME, API, AWWA, and NFPA standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, drafters, fabrication, and field teams
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolve design-related issues during fabrication or installation
- Communicate with clients, inspectors, and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment
Qualifications
- PE license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or related engineering field
- 5+ years of experience in pressure vessel or tank design
- Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 650/653/620, AWWA D100, and NFPA standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, and MathCAD or comparable engineering tools
- Strong analytical, structural, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, drafting, fabrication, and field operations
