Minimum Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Current PE certification
  • 4-7 years of recent experience in Mechanical Engineering design with an architectural or MEP firm
  • Proficient interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful client relationships
  • Advanced knowledge in calculations and analysis for mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Working knowledge in Project Management
  • Proficient in AutoCad, Revit and Bluebeam
  • Proficient in MS Office software
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check is required
Expectations
  • Contributes to the design and development of mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Performs load calculations for mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design of mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Exercises judgment to apply generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for project specific application.
  • Works directly with senior engineers to develop new designs and solutions.
  • Creates HVAC design drawings utilizing.
  • Completes drawings and specifications under the direction of a Project Manager/Licensed Engineer.
  • Coordinates work efforts with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and CAD/Revit design teams ensuring quality and attention to detail.
  • Attends design and construction meetings.
  • Conducts construction site visits and field surveys to verify code compliance, construction progress, and as-built conditions.
  • Develops meeting minutes and site observation reports
  • Prepares mechanical engineering designs and construction documents for buildings based on client requirements, budget and schedule.
  • Maintains drawing quality standards.
  • Follows established BIM standards.
  • Sets up BIM models from architectural and/or structural Revit files and create MEP discipline work sets.
  • Collaborates with project managers in a multi-disciplinary MEP design environment.
  • Responds to RFIs in a timely manner.
  • Researches code issues and work with City, State and County officials ensuring designs are code compliant.
  • Reviews shop drawings/submittals determining compliance with design drawings and specifications and recommends any necessary changes
  • Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
