A fast-paced engineering team is seeking a Mechanical, Opto-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineer with broad experience in design, fabrication, structural and thermal analysis, integration, and testing of advanced prototype systems. Experience with mechanisms, opto-mechanical systems, airborne payloads, and environmental testing is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will work within small multidisciplinary teams on fast-paced prototype development efforts supporting the design, testing, and fielding of advanced systems. Projects are typically short-duration efforts (6–12 months) and may include airborne testing, field testing, ground vehicle integration, and technology transition activities.

This role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts across multiple technical disciplines to support system-level engineering and rapid prototype execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, fabrication, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced prototype systems.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities involving mechanical, thermal, optical, and electronic subsystems.
  • Develop and evaluate opto-mechanical solutions including mounting, alignment, packaging, and environmental ruggedization of sensors and components.
  • Perform systems engineering activities to ensure successful integration of payloads onto airborne platforms.
  • Support field testing of airborne and ground-based assets.
  • Assist with integration, alignment, measurement, actuation, and mechanism development for prototype systems.
  • Generate fabrication and assembly documentation to support prototype builds.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet aggressive demonstration and testing schedules.
  • Participate in prototype environmental and performance testing activities.
