Mechanical Engineer; Minnesota

MECHANICAL DESIGNER-NEW BRIGHTON, MN

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our retail and light commercial group. This position will focus on HVAC and plumbing design for a variety of retail and light commercial projects throughout the United States. The Mechanical Designer will work closely with project managers, electrical designers, clients, and plan reviewers throughout the design and project delivery process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for retail and light commercial projects.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Size mechanical equipment and systems.
• Perform ductwork sizing and design.
• Perform plumbing sizing and design.
• Develop mechanical and plumbing plans using Autodesk Revit.
• Coordinate designs with project managers and electrical designers.
• Communicate with clients and plan reviewers as needed.
• Assist with project coordination and design development.
• Ensure designs meet applicable project requirements, codes, and standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1–4 years of experience with building or building systems design.
• Mechanical system design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit is required.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, designers, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must be willing to work fully in person at the office in New Brighton, MN.
