Mechanical Engineer

Payrate: $43.00 - $44.00/hr.

Summary:

This role involves supporting partner engineering teams in the rapid design, analysis, and prototype manufacturing of electrified machines and systems. The position offers the opportunity to work on high-visibility projects, designing and building first prototypes of their kind.

Responsibilities

• Support partner engineering teams with rapid design, analysis, and prototype manufacturing of electrified machines and systems.

• Operate and maintain prototyping machinery including 3D printers, CNC cutting/milling/welding, and electrical cable/harness fabrication.

• Assist with design, build, or test phases in 1 to 3 concurrent prototype project teams.

• Troubleshoot equipment, track prototype inventory, and provide logistics support.

• Enable prototype delivery for high-velocity and high-priority projects while ensuring safety and efficiency.

• Engage with partner team engineers to develop best practices for prototype designs and manufacturing.

• Collaborate with a local team of 6-7 people and a broader team of 10-20 partner engineers, including high-level management interaction.

• Work 25% in an office environment and 75% in a shop environment, with all PPE gear provided.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

• Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Controls, or Industrial Engineering.

• Open to candidates with a 2-year degree and 9 years of experience in an applicable technical area.

• Master’s degree candidates must have 5 years of experience.

• Internships may be considered as job experience, depending on relevance.

Skills

• Top Skills: CAD design, mechanic and fabrication skills, CNC machinery operations and diagnostics.

• Additional Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Creo design, Creo Simulate, DFMA/design for prototyping.

• Desired: CAD CAM, additive manufacturing experience, welding, machine and system diagnostics.

• Soft Skills: Customer focus, engaging with a wide range of teams, developing, mentoring, and training best practices for design and prototype manufacturing.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: **$43.00 - $44.00 /hour. **Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
