A large industrial manufacturing operation in Pennsylvania is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support reliability improvement, equipment performance, and capital project execution within a high‑volume production environment. This role partners closely with operations while also supporting engineering projects across the site.

Job Details

The Mechanical Engineer supports plant objectives by improving equipment reliability, resolving chronic mechanical issues, and managing project work from concept through commissioning. This role works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering to improve safety, quality, capacity, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to production, maintenance, and support teams to meet plant goals
  • Lead and support projects from scope development through design, procurement, installation, startup, and close‑out
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process equipment issues and drive solutions to root cause
  • Optimize equipment performance to improve quality, throughput, and reliability
  • Safely manage capital and improvement projects ranging from approximately $10K to $5M
  • Develop written scopes, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Coordinate engineering design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of equipment
  • Manage contractor safety documentation and lead required safety meetings
  • Track project schedules and spending to ensure delivery within approved timelines and budgets
  • Support long‑range planning and capital budgeting activities
  • Lead or participate in cross‑functional problem‑solving efforts to resolve chronic issues

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project execution
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands‑on experience working alongside production and maintenance teams
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in an operating plant
  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with quality systems and continuous improvement methods
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Comfort operating in a fast‑paced industrial environment
