Mechanical Engineer

ALMACO in Nevada, IA is seeking innovative, detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to work on a small team, get experience with a wide variety of products, and loves to watch technical ideas come to life in the real world.

The Mechanical Design Engineer position at ALMACO is a full-time exempt position with flexible day-shift hours.

Opportunities in this position:

• Collaborate with Engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop and improve mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Work directly with manufacturing to move designs into production!
• Support prototypes, testing, and product improvement.

To excel in this position, you have:

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Two to three years of experience designing mechanical products, equipment, or machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Working proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred. Must be able to create and interpret production drawings, assemblies, tolerances, and bills of material.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer-service orientation and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Comfort learning job-specific software and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Work environment, physical demands, and PPE:

• Manufacturer environment with potential exposure to heat, dust, loud noise, and mechanical hazards.
• This role is primarily seated but includes walking, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting.
