About the Role:

As a Mechanical Engineer, Parcel, you’ll apply your knowledge of engineering principles and materials to detail all aspects of material handling systems. You will be responsible for engineering 2D & 3D layouts and installation drawing sets that communicate the design to all stakeholders, during firm engineering. As a team member, we’ll appreciate your methodical approach, solid technical know-how, and attention to detail in your work. 

In this role, you will…

• Leverage 2D & 3D CAD systems to engineer material handling systems in compliance with customer specification(s).
• Review and create as-built drawings
• Participate in firm engineering meetings with the customers and suppliers; may lead technical discussion during these meetings
• Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings
• Create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment
• Create point load drawings when required
• Verify calculations, such as horsepower and throughput
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure custom equipment is provided per design specifications
• Collaborate with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements
• Produce and/or compile installation details, including supplier installation drawings and manuals, for the field
• Travel to job sites to verify field conditions
• Report project status to the Project Engineer as required maintaining the project schedule
• Design parts or platforms required for material handling system
• Provide other required engineering tasks as necessary

We’re excited about you because…

• • You have a BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD)
  • You have 4-6 years of experience with projects in the parcel space
  • You have experience in UPS and/or FedEx parcel projects
  • You’re proficient in 3D CAD Systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, PTC CREO), 2D AutoCAD & and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • You’re flexible and able to transition between several projects
  • You possess excellent written communication skills
  • You understand that the details make the big picture work, and like working in the details
  • You’re more excited about the success of your team than your own personal success
  • You’re passionate in continuous improvement, being a key contributor to the development of the Engineering Process
