Position SummaryWe're looking for a Mechanical/Product Development Engineer who enjoys turning ideas into real products. In this role, you'll take ownership of new product designs from concept through production, developing 3D CAD models, creating detailed drawings, building and testing prototypes, and working closely with manufacturing to bring designs to life.You'll work on a diverse range of commercial and defense products, giving you the opportunity to solve different engineering challenges rather than focusing on the same product or process every day.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys designing, building, testing, improving, and ultimately seeing their work become a finished product.What You'll DoDevelop new mechanical products and components from initial concept through productionCreate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawingsEvaluate and improve existing products through redesign and engineering analysisDevelop prototypes and support product testing, qualification, and validationApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to new and existing designsIdentify critical-to-function features and develop practical solutions for quality, reliability, and manufacturabilityWork directly with manufacturing, machinists, technicians, and other engineers to bring designs into productionSupport material, component, tooling, and manufacturing process selectionCreate and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Apply GD&T and sound engineering principles to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirementsParticipate in product development reviews and help move projects from concept to productionWhat We're Looking ForRequired:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering fieldMinimum of a 3.3 GPA for all completed degreesProfessional experience with mechanical/product design and developmentExperience using 3D CAD software to create models and engineering drawingsUnderstanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)Experience taking products or components from design into productionU.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR requirementsPreferred:3+ years of mechanical/product development engineering experienceExperience with GD&T / ASME Y14.5Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, tube fabrication, or other manufacturing processesExperience with product development or stage-gate processesExperience with prototyping and product testingExperience processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Why This Role?Work on both commercial and defense productsTake ownership of projects from concept through productionSee your designs become real, production-ready productsWork alongside experienced engineers, machinists, technicians, and manufacturing professionalsGain exposure to a wide range of design and manufacturing technologiesSolve new engineering challenges across a diverse product portfolioMainstream Engineering Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
