Position SummaryUses engineering principles to design develop and evaluate sensor assemblies.Position RequirementsDesignIdentify customer needs and develop product solutions to meet all applicable requirements based on product design and function.Identify appropriate concepts and organize functional model development including design building and testing to verify concepts.Establish design concepts BOMs and Engineering assumptions for customer quotations.Create and maintain engineering documentation such as bills of material DFMEA specifications NRE Costs and other types of engineering documentation.Work with andor direct Technicians and Designers in product development activities.Develop detailed drawing sets and specifications from design concept stage through production at the component and assembly level. Perform statistical analysis such as SPC to verify partprocess conformancecapabilities. Analyze dimensional stack-ups and make use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing techniques.Coordinate efforts with customer engineering to provide necessary technical support.Assist other engineers with high level technical and scientific problems related to sensors.Identify track and resolve open issues for products under development.Interface with peers technical resources outside of the company university professors etc. vendors and customers.PrototypeCreate prototype process flows.Quote prototype materials.Procure prototype sourcestooling and verify tooling capability.Test and ValidateEstablish and implement appropriate Engineering Development and Design Validation test plans.Perform prototype product failure analysis on customer returns scrap & DVPV parts and reports results.Review DVP&R and test results.Support Quality and ProductionProvide moderate support of APQP activities plant support purchasing sales and failure analysis.Propose and evaluate cost saving solutions for existing products.OtherAssist in the development of procedures and implement those procedures required for TS16949 and ISO 14001.Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.Support promote and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies LLC. which includes following the policies procedures and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.ProfessionalTechnical Experience Skills and EducationBachelors degree in engineering related field required.Proficient in Microsoft Office required.Supports engineering team during customer meetings required. Intermediate project management knowledge required.Provide intermediate technical knowledge in most aspects of a projects required.Four 4 plus years of experience to be considered required.Key AttributesPerforms under general supervisionHandles moderately complex issues.Solid working level of knowledge.May mentor or coach.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
