We have an exciting opportunity available for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer in our growing Madison, WI office. This opportunity offers exciting project challenges while managing design teams on single and multi-discipline projects. For the right candidate, this position also provides the potential to develop into a Practice Team Leader in the Madison office.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, responsibilities may include:
- Project engineering and management, including project oversight, setting priorities, and developing objectives
- Project financial management, as well as hands-on involvement in the design process
- Serving as a technical resource and mentor for mechanical and plumbing team members
- Lead and participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, project interviews, presentations, and client management
- Develop new business opportunities by strengthening relationships with existing clients and creating new client connections
- Represent the firm at industry events, professional associations, and community activities to enhance visibility and market presence
- Professional society involvement
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical or architectural engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in design experience in the design and specification of HVAC systems for a variety of building types
- Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply
- Abilities to mentor staff and successfully lead a project team is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-discipline and architect-led team on large site projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin
- PE licenses in other Midwest states is a plus
- Commissioning experience would be a plus
- Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary
