This role is responsible for ensuring mechanical systems and components meet design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements across the full lifecycle, including design validation, supplier manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. The Engineer will work closely with engineering, suppliers, and field teams to implement QA/QC processes, perform inspections and validations, support root cause analysis, and ensure compliance with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. QA/QC processes and procedures, as well as applicable North American standards. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA's long‑term business objectives.The ideal candidate will have at least seven (7) years of experience in QA/QC, quality engineering, or mechanical engineering roles with significant QA/QC responsibilities within industrial, energy, or data center-related industries.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESQuality assurance & quality control executionExecute QA/QC activities across mechanical systems, including inspections, testing, and validation during design, manufacturing, and field installation phases.Verify compliance with design specifications, engineering standards, and quality requirements.Support development and implementation of inspection and test plans (ITP), checklists, and quality documentation.Design review & validationParticipate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with quality standards.Support validation of mechanical system performance (e.g., cooling systems, piping, fuel systems, structural elements).Identify potential quality risks in design and recommend mitigation actions.Supplier & manufacturing qualitySupport supplier quality control activities, including inspections, audits, and quality checks of mechanical components and systems.Monitor manufacturing quality at suppliers and contract manufacturers, including module packagers in North America.Verify material quality, fabrication accuracy, and assembly processes against specifications.Coordinate with Japan‑based teams to ensure alignment with MHI global QA/QC standards.Field quality supportSupport QA/QC activities during installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing.Conduct site inspections and verify installation quality and system performance.Assist in identifying and resolving field quality issues in coordination with engineering and project teams.Non‑conformance & root cause analysisSupport identification, documentation, and tracking of non‑conformance issues (NCRs).Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.Follow up on corrective actions to ensure proper resolution and prevention of recurrence.Compliance & documentationEnsure QA/QC activities are executed in compliance with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.
