Mechanical Engineer

MECHANICAL ENGINEER – FULL-TIME | ON-SITE | ROSEDALE, MD

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time, on-site position in Rosedale, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and machinery. This role requires strong AutoCAD expertise, hands-on engineering experience, and end-to-end project involvement—from initial concept and research through execution and completion.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and develop machinery and mechanical systems using AutoCAD and other CAD software
• Lead and support engineering projects from concept through completion
• Perform research and development (R&D) to support product improvement and innovation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, operations, and quality
• Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and refinement of prototypes and final products
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in design and production

Qualifications

• Railway or railroad industry experience (strongly preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or engineering roles
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software
• A ready portfolio of work created using AutoCAD is required
• Strong understanding of machine design principles
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
• Familiarity with materials selection, fabrication methods, and mechanical systems
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
