We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our elevator engineering team. The ideal candidate will combine strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with specific expertise in elevator systems design, maintenance, and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop elevator mechanical components and systems using CAD software, ensuring compliance with ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators and EscalatorsAnalyze and optimize elevator performance metrics including ride quality, energy efficiency, and mechanical reliabilityConduct structural and mechanical calculations for elevator components including drive systems, suspension means, safety mechanisms, and door operatorsCollaborate with electrical and control systems engineers to integrate mechanical designs with electronic control systemsReview and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and installation instructionsInvestigate field issues and provide technical solutions for complex mechanical problemsDevelop and maintain documentation for design specifications, technical standards, and maintenance proceduresParticipate in safety reviews and risk assessments of elevator systems and componentsSupport manufacturing teams with technical guidance during production and assemblyMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on project teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5+ years of experience in elevator systems engineeringProficient in 3D CAD software (preferably AutoCAD and Solidworks)Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials science, and structural mechanicsExperience with elevator codes and safety standards (ASME A17.1/CSA B44)Knowledge of quality control methods and failure analysis techniquesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong project management abilitiesPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineering (PE) licenseMaster's degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience with finite element analysis (FEA) softwareKnowledge of international elevator codes (EN 81, GB 7588)Experience with modernization of existing elevator systemsBackground in predictive maintenance and condition monitoringPhysical RequirementsAbility to access elevator hoistways, machine rooms, and pit areasCapability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyVisual acuity to inspect mechanical components and review technical drawingsOffice environment with periodic field visits to installation sitesMay require occasional travel to manufacturing facilities and customer locationsSome work in elevator hoistways and machine rooms requiredMust be comfortable working at heights401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysLife and disability insuranceThe ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality in elevator system design and maintenance.Equal Opportunity Employer - We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.#J-18808-Ljbffr
