We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer PE to spearhead innovative mechanical design and system development projects. The Mechanical Engineer PE is responsible for leading mechanical engineering and project execution efforts across refinery, oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, power, HVAC, and other heavy industrial projects within a multidisciplinary environment. This role combines hands‑on engineering design, client engagement, project leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration supporting projects from initial concept through detailed design, construction support, and client deliveryYour expertise will drive the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to construction and manufacturing support. This position offers strong long‑term growth potential into leadership responsibilities for the right individual.Key Responsibilities Help lead the mechanical design process utilizing CAD tools such as AutoCAD to develop detailed schematics, assemblies, and drawings aligned with project requirementsOversee project scheduling and execution, ensuring timely milestones are met while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including structural, electrical, civil, and controls engineering groupsConduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or performance issues, implementing corrective actions to optimize system reliability and efficiencyApply knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices including ASME codes & standardsDevelop comprehensive system designs incorporating mechanical engineering knowledge, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and industrial design standardsUtilize engineering analysis and simulation tools including FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to support mechanical concept validation and performance optimizationSupport project execution from conceptual design through construction, manufacturing support, and client delivery activitiesPrepare and review technical documentation including schematics, design packages, drafting reports, calculations, and CAD modelsCoordinate with clients and internal engineering teams to support project development, technical problem‑solving, and ongoing project executionParticipate in field walks, site visits, client meetings, and project coordination activities as requiredSupport manufacturing, fabrication, prototyping, and assembly‑related activities while ensuring designs remain practical and manufacturableServe as a client‑facing engineering representative capable of building trusted relationships and communicating effectively across disciplinesMentor junior engineers and support a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environmentContribute to a culture focused on professionalism, technical excellence, safety, and long‑term client partnership developmentRequired Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (PE) license requiredBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline8+ years of mechanical engineering experience within refinery, oil & gas, chemical, process manufacturing, or related heavy industrial environmentsExperience leading engineering projects within industrial or process facilitiesKnowledge of ASME codes, piping systems, pressure vessels, structural components, and industrial mechanical systemsStrong analytical skills with proficiency in root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectivelyAbility to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams including structural, electrical, civil, and controlsStrong client‑facing communication and relationship‑building skillsProficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, or similar engineering design platformsMust reside in or be willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City metropolitan areaAbility to work primarily onsite in a collaborative engineering environmentNice‑To‑Haves Prior consulting, EPC, or EPCM engineering experiencePrevious leadership, mentorship, or team lead experienceExposure to client development, proposal support, or account management activitiesInterest in long‑term leadership growth within a consulting engineering environmentThis position is based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area and is onsite 5 days per weekDaily in‑office collaboration is important to support multidisciplinary engineering coordination, project execution, and client responsivenessOccasional flexibility for remote work may be accommodated based on business and project needs, but this is not a hybrid roleCandidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City areaOccasional local travel, client site visits, and field support activities may be required$100,000–$150,000 base salary target depending on experience and qualificationsAnnual bonus potential based on individual and company performancePotential long‑term equity opportunity for strong long‑term contributors and future leadership candidates401(k) with 3% company matchMedical, dental, vision, life insurance, and HSA benefitsPaid time off and company holidaysCompany vehicle access and mileage reimbursement for applicable project‑related travelRelocation assistance may be available for qualified candidatesLong‑term career growth opportunity within a multidisciplinary engineering consulting environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
