Mechanical Engineer; Salt Lake City, UT

Summary: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing MEP/building systems team. This role will be responsible for designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and other building projects.The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design experience, is comfortable working with architects and other engineering disciplines, and wants the opportunity to take projects from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and institutional buildings
• Develop mechanical plans, details, specifications, and construction documents
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations
• Design ductwork, piping, air distribution, and equipment systems
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams
• Conduct site visits and assist with field observations as needed
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings
• Assist with projects from initial design through construction administration
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and project teams
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience designing HVAC/mechanical systems for buildings
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP
• Understanding of applicable building and mechanical codes
• Experience with heating and cooling load calculations
• Ability to develop mechanical construction documents
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

• EIT or PE license
