Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to join our San Antonio team. This position is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in HVAC and building systems who is looking to take on greater design responsibility and grow within a collaborative MEP engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical/HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and other building projects.
Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, equipment schedules, and construction documents.
Perform heating and cooling load calculations and equipment selections.
Design ductwork, piping, ventilation, and mechanical distribution systems.
Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations as needed.
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor questions.
Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
Participate in design meetings and communicate directly with project teams and clients.
Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within an MEP consulting environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Strong HVAC/building mechanical systems experience.
Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, ASHRAE standards, and building codes.
Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and equipment selection.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Texas EIT preferred; PE is a plus.
Preferred Experience
Commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or institutional projects.
Experience with Revit-based MEP design.
HVAC load calculations and energy-efficiency considerations.
Construction administration and field coordination.
Experience working with Texas building codes and local jurisdictions.
