Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yrPosition SummaryWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong sheet‑metal design experience to own the full engineering lifecycle—from 3D model flat pattern CNC programming ERP release. This role works closely with production, programming, and project management to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and delivered with consistency.Beyond modeling and programming, this position plays a key role in developing engineering standards, workflows, and process improvements that reduce rework and increase throughput across the business.Responsibilities:Design & ModelingCreate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal + Weldments)Design generator enclosures, sound‑attenuated housings, electrical enclosures (VFD, PLC, MCC, switchgear), structural skids, frames, weldments, and custom assembliesApply DFM principles to ensure designs are practical, repeatable, and cost‑effectiveProgramming & Flat PatternsGenerate accurate flat patterns , bend deductions, and forming informationProgram parts for lasers, punches, tube lasers, and press brakes using CADMAN Suite and ArtubeProduce clear fabrication drawings, weld details, hardware callouts, and bend notesERP Data OwnershipEnter and maintain BOMs , routings , part metadata, and revision control inside Fulcrum ERPEnsure engineering data is clean, structured, and fully ready for release to manufacturingWork within SolidWorks PDM to manage files, revisions, workflows, and approvalsEngineering Standards, Workflows & Process Improvement (ENGINEER‑LEVEL OWNERSHIP)Develop and maintain Ameritex engineering standards, templates, and modeling practicesImprove engineering workflows , documentation, and handoffs to reduce errors and reworkCreate and govern standards for bend rules, hardware specs, nesting guidelines, part numbering, revision structure , etc.Identify bottlenecks in design programming fabrication and lead technical improvement initiativesCollaborate cross‑functionally to improve manufacturability and reduce variation across jobsProduction SupportWork directly with welders, brake operators, laser operators, and assembly teams to resolve technical issuesTroubleshoot fabrication, forming, welding, or assembly challengesSupport overtime or after‑hours work when critical project deadlines require itRequired Qualifications3+ years mechanical design experience with sheet‑metal enclosures or structural weldmentsUnderstanding of fabrication processes: laser cutting, press braking, welding, hardware, assemblyExperience with programming or willingness to learn laser/press‑brake programming immediatelyERP experience (BOMs, routings, part structure, revisions)Strong mechanical aptitude and a DFM‑first mindsetPreferred ExperienceSolidWorks PDM (files, revisions, workflows)Experience in a fabrication or job‑shop environmentKnowledge of PEM hardware, gasketing, ventilation, sound attenuation, or cooling solutionsSoft Skills / Culture FitOrganized, detail‑driven, and accountableStrong communicator who collaborates well with productionProactive problem solver — not a “minimum effort” engineerWilling to stay late or work overtime when critical projects require itDriven to improve processes, not just complete tasksCompetitive salary ($75,000–$100,000)Significant career growth in a rapidly scaling engineering environmentOpportunity to help shape the future engineering standards and workflows at AmeritexSeniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Ameritex Machine & Fabrication by 2x#J-18808-Ljbffr
