    Description

    Novacel is seeking a motivated, experienced, and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join the Walco Inc. team in Troy, Ohio. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and improve mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery while supporting standardization and customization initiatives. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to reliability, quality, and continuous improvement, with a mindset that every solution must work correctly the first time and every time. This position plays a key role in reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting manufacturing operations.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    •Designing technical parts, assemblies, and full production lines.
    •Creating assembly drawings and its associated detailed components.
    •Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes and finished products.
    •Liaising with suppliers for components and semi-finished goods.
    •Supporting the shop floor and field technicians during assembly, installation & commissioning.
    •Sizing motors, pneumatic actuators and transmission.
    •Carrying out in-coming material inspection, particularly made to order and semi-finished goods.
    •High degree of discipline in B.O.M. creation and revision control.
    •Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project management to drive improvements. 
    •Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. 
    •Analyze equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. 
     
    Required Skills and Qualifications:
    •Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a 
    •Minimum of 3 years of machine design experience.
    •Strong proficiency in Solidworks and ERP systems.
    •Ability to interpret third-angle projection drawings and work comfortably with Imperial and SI units.
    •Excellent verbal and written communication skills; additional language skills are an asset.
    •Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate customer needs and develop practical, value-added solutions.
    •Comfortable working with data, including reading reports, tracking KPIs, and preparing concise summaries.
    •Valid driving license and willingness to travel for client visits as required.
