PEO USC Mechanical Engineer (Mid)

Overview:

STARGATES provides Program Management and Systems Engineering support to the Program Executive Office for Unmanned & Small Combatants (PEO USC).  These efforts support the acquisition and maintenance of the unmanned maritime capabilities of multiple ship platforms and systems, from procurement through sustainment.


Position Description:

PMS 420 is in need of a mid-level (5 plus years of relevant experience) mechanical engineer with NAVSEA experience who is proactive and able to work onsite at the Washington Navy Yard 3 days/week to fully understand MCM (Mine Countermeasure) USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) and how it supports the MCM MP (Mission Package).  The candidate would be able to assist the team lead in maintaining MCM USV’s forward progress in the absence of the APM.  


Position Location:

DC area (3 days/week at the Washington Navy Yard)

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline

·         Five (5) years of engineering experience (mechanical preferred) with respect to DoD programs/projects

  • Experience in marine infrastructure and/or navy ship design
  • Experience with robotics and autonomy
  • Experience with software baselines and loads, and hardware compatibility challenges
  • Ability to communicate technical concerns within the program office
  • Assess and address risks
  • Maintain a holistic technical and programmatic view
  • Adaptable and able to learn fast
  • Working level of knowledge with excel
  •          Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

·       Eight (8) years of engineering experience (mechanical preferred) with respect to DoD programs/projects

·       Extensive level of knowledge with excel
