Mechanical Engineer

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9AM-6PM, Friday 8AM-12PM | Onsite
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support HVAC and plumbing system design for commercial projects from concept through construction. This role works directly with clients, supports bidding efforts, and stays involved through construction and project closeout.
Key Responsibilities
* Design new HVAC systems and support upgrades or replacements of existing systems
* Perform engineering calculations for equipment sizing, ductwork, and ventilation
* Develop construction drawings and technical specifications
* Define project scope, timelines, and fee structures
* Review submittals and ensure compliance with design intent
* Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
* Experience with HVAC system design
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and construction practices
* Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Preferences
* Experience with plumbing system design
* Experience working on commercial or institutional projects
* Strong client-facing communication skills
* Experience supporting projects through construction and closeout
