Job Description:
- Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
- Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
- May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results
Essential Functions:
- Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for high performance, high pressure pneumatic mechanisms/systems.
- Work closely with a broad team from engineering and operations to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.
- Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design
- Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks including first order hand calculations and FEA.
- Present data in design review settings (e.g. PDR, CDR), both internal and external
- Provide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception through production.
- Provide hands-on support during development, prototyping, integration and test activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Degree to be in mechanical engineering or a related field
- CAD design skills, including part, and assembly-level modeling in a mechanical design software preferably Creo.
- CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis methods using hand calculations
- Ability to manage small to medium projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.
