Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads a group of mechanical engineers to design, develop, and support Chandler Engineering products and to support the business activities of the operations, sales, and service groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the process of developing new products by providing project resource management including developing product specifications, product development schedules, and product documentation.
  • Lead a group of mechanical engineers in designing and developing products, and in the support of manufacturing, sales, and service functions.
  • Ensure that the Engineering team follows ISO procedures as outlined in the departments work instructions
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals of direct reports
  • Provide weekly departmental activity reports to the Director of Engineering
  • Work with Operations to maintain/improve production line efficiency, consistency, quality, and yields. This includes daily problem solving and creation and documentation of processes and fixtures used to manufacture and test products.
  • Ensure that the quality and performance of our products meets our customers expectations
  • Find and execute VA/VE projects as needed
  • Perform all work in accordance with approved manuals and follow all policies and safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel, up to 25%, may be required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or equivalent experience.
  • Holds an active P.E. license in the state of Oklahoma
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience creating 3-D models and associated drawings in CAD (especially SolidWorks).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years of experience leading projects and/or people.
  • API Pressure Vessels Inspector Certification.
  • Project management skills and PMP certification.
  • Ability to create 3-D models and associated drawings in CAD (especially SolidWorks), preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus (especially Navision).

  • A strong foundation in core engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and design.
  • Experience in the entire product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
  • Mastery of computer-aided design and manufacturing tools.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to assemble and lead high-performing engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects within budget and timeline.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leverages data and analytics to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Inspires and motivates teams, builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and effectively communicates at all levels.

Employee Type: Salaried
