PositionWe are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician with 3 years of hands-on experience in quality control, production support and full cycle development process. You will be working with Engineering & Production teams to support our next gen state of the art electromechanical solutions in our line of business. You will participate in quality control, design, building prototypes, drafting, testing, and supporting highly integrated electromechanical products for stenography. Overall, you will be actively involved in improving the user experience and efficiency by parts testing, supporting production line, creating drawings, updating the assembly instructions and specifications of the existing products, and participating in development new state of the art electromechanical solutions.
Primary Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product goals and specifications are clear based on the market and product research data
- Create and review technical drawings, assemblies, instructions, and specifications using computer software (Solid Works)
- Perform quality control, testing, inspections (for incoming materials and outcoming goods) and maintain detailed documentation to track project development, inspection, and testing process
- Participation in qualitative research activities and establish product specifications including design objectives and product features
- Support production line, execute troubleshooting
- Operate effectively under time constraints and meet deadlines
Experience and Skills- Experience with quality control, inspection processes and inspection tools utilization
- Assistance with Designing for Manufacturability, reliability/durability and validating through testing
- Testing and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, report preparation
- 3D printing and CAD rendering packages.
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, modeling, drafting and assembly
- Production assistance and troubleshooting
- Results focused collaboration with cross-functional product, electronics/electrical, software development teams
Educational Qualification:- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; or combination of education, or training with demonstrated relevant equivalent experience
- Be available to perform these duties within the company's defined business hours, 8 AM to 5 PM CST, working in-office in Downers Grove, IL. Monday through Friday.
