Education Required: High school graduation or equivalency certification.
Experience:
4 years of progressive responsible engineering technical or maintenance experience in support of military or commercial aircraft.
Desired Experience
4+ years’ experience shall have consisted of coordinating with engineering/technical functions with respect to maintenance and/or sustainment of airframe and mechanical systems, or equivalent
Prior military aircraft organizational and/or intermediate maintenance, operation, and support experience
Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design
Knowledge of and experience with military operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications
Strong communications skills with a proactive work ethic
Position Description:
Provides technical support to the F-5 Block Upgrade Program (BUP) and Avionics Reconfiguration and Tactical Enhancement/Modernization for Inventory Standardization (ARTEMIS) Systems Engineering Lead within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226.
Provides mechanical junior or journeyman level technical design and modification support of the F-5N+/F+ modernization program.
Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including Structures, Subsystems, Support Equipment, Power and Propulsion, and Technical Data.
Provides mechanical technical assistance to BUP/ARTEMIS Systems Engineering Lead through research of mechanical solutions to airframe issues.
As directed, coordinates and triages technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services.
Acts as a point of contact for technical inquiries; independently drafts and provides correspondence for government review and release.
Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs.
Reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with key technical engineering products (including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as program contractual documents (including Statements of Work [SOW]).
Salary: The projected salary range for this full-time position is $72,000 to $100,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary. Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
