Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician II (Product Development)
Location: Brea, California
Shift:Monday Friday, 1:30 PM 10:00 PM

Interview Process: In-Person Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering Technician II supports Product Development and R&D activities by executing laboratory testing, prototype development, equipment qualification, and technical documentation. This role works closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to perform routine technical tasks, collect and analyze test data, support laboratory operations, and contribute to the development of medical devices and related technologies in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support engineers with product development, testing, and laboratory activities.
  • Gather, maintain, compile, format, and analyze technical data.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics.
  • Perform quantitative analysis and summarize test results.
  • Execute engineering test protocols and laboratory experiments.
  • Develop and support prototype builds, processes, and test setups.
  • Conduct testing and accurately document results.
  • Assist with equipment selection, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Support laboratory operations including equipment calibration, maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Handle test samples, laboratory materials, and chemicals used during testing and conditioning processes.
  • Communicate test findings and project updates to engineers and project teams.
  • Identify and report issues that may impact project timelines, quality, or performance.
  • Follow written procedures, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians when required.
Required Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 6 years of experience in:
    • Laboratory environments (academic or industry)
    • Engineering technician roles
    • Regulated manufacturing or medical device environments
  • Experience following written procedures and technical work instructions.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 1 2 years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, product development, or engineering environment.
Required Skills:
  • Laboratory testing and experimentation.
