Role SummaryProvide hands-on mechanical technical and machining support to Ampera's RnD team. The role focuses on safe fabrication, assembly, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Create and update CAD models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing details.
- Machine, fabricate, fit, assemble, modify, and repair parts, fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
- Provide practical manufacturability and assembly input during design reviews.
- Inspect parts and assemblies using appropriate precision measurement tools.
- Support equipment maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and readiness.
- Maintain orderly work areas, tooling, equipment, and records while following applicable safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Technical certificate, associate degree, machinist apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on machining, fabrication, or mechanical experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, materials, and assembly requirements.
- Hands-on capability with machining, fabrication, precision measurement, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting.
- Clear communication, careful documentation, and a practical problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with CAD, manual or CNC machining, precision fabrication, equipment maintenance, or technical support environments. What matters most is demonstrated hands-on capability, sound judgment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
