Shape Real‑World Performance in Clairton, PA

Step into our industrial laboratory and turn product concepts into proven performance. As a Mechanical & Environmental Test Technologist, you’ll blend hands-on mechanics with data-driven discipline to validate how equipment stands up to vibration, shock, and harsh environments.

A day in the lab

You arrive in Clairton, PA, review the test plan, and prep your station. You rig and position a unit under test, mount accelerometers and gauges, and set up the vibration table for a durability profile. You verify instrumentation calibrations, load the procedure, and bring the system online. Throughout the run, you monitor traces on computer-based systems, make low-voltage adjustments, and troubleshoot mechanical quirks to keep the test on spec. You log observations and results in real time, then wrap with careful documentation and equipment maintenance so the next sequence starts flawlessly.

What you’ll do

  • Plan, set up, and execute mechanical and environmental test programs: vibration, shock, and durability.
  • Operate laboratory test stands, fixtures, and computer monitoring/control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical issues and low-voltage electrical problems during active tests.
  • Interpret and follow technical procedures, specifications, drawings, and testing requirements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices to build and verify test setups.
  • Record activities, observations, and results with precision and clarity.
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and organization of lab assets and instrumentation.
  • Assist with moving, rigging, and positioning equipment and materials safely.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure successful test execution.
  • Uphold safety procedures and quality standards at every step.

What you’ll bring

  • Associate degree or technical certification preferred; equivalent hands-on experience welcomed.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, testing, or similar technical environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude paired with basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Background with industrial machinery, instrumentation, or testing equipment.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and drawings.
  • Proven safe use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Sharp troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Nice to have: vibration/environmental testing experience; forklift, crane, or rigging exposure.

Proficiencies we value

  • Quality Inspection Experience
  • Troubleshooting Skills
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Mechanical Testing
  • National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Hi-Pot (High Potential) / High Voltage Testing
  • Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement
  • Quality Control Data Analysis
