Position Summary

We are seeking an analytical Mechanical Estimator to join our EPC team. In this role, you will prepare high-accuracy, multi-discipline cost estimates for large-scale, complex industrial and commercial mechanical systems. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams from conceptual design through final project execution. This position requires deep expertise in industrial estimating and process equipment, alongside a strong grasp of market trends and global supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Lifecycles: Develop estimates across all project phases including conceptual and detailed EPC bid packages.
  • Drawings & Data: Interpret complex P&IDs, models, and detailed engineering specifications to execute precise quantity take-offs.
  • Procurement Collaboration: Partner with global procurement teams to secure strategic material pricing, equipment quotes, and vendor commercial alignments.
  • Construction Strategy: Work with construction managers to estimate field labor productivity, craft wages, equipment rentals, and indirect project costs.
  • Risk & Metrics: Conduct risk assessments and contingency analyses to protect project margins and ensure cost predictability.
  • Change Management: Provide ongoing cost-trend analysis and estimate impacts for engineering design changes during execution.
  • Benchmarking: Maintain and update internal historical cost databases utilizing metrics from completed global EPC projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of estimating experience within an EPC firm or heavy industrial construction environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial process piping, ASME codes and large-scale projects.
  • Software Skills: High proficiency in specialized estimating platforms and advanced MS Excel.
  • Analysis: Proven ability to manage massive data sets and synthesize complex technical documents into clear commercial models.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: Active credentials from AACE International (e.g., Certified Estimating Professional - CEP).
  • Advanced Tools: Advanced proficiency with 3D model review software like Bluebeam, Navisworks, or Revit.
