As we continue to grow we are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team.Job Summary As a Mechanical Estimator at the Grunau Company you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with HVAC process and industrial piping projects. This position requires a strong understanding of piping plumbing or sheet metal installation and fabrication processes industry standards and the ability to collaborate with various teams to deliver comprehensive and competitive project bids. Gaining experience in estimation could assist in leading to opportunities into project management.ResponsibilitiesProject EvaluationReview project plans specifications and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.Takeoffs and QuantitiesConduct accurate takeoffs and quantify materials labor and equipment required for piping fabrication and installation.Vendor and Subcontractor ManagementSource and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.Cost AnalysisAnalyze project costs including labor materials overhead and profit margins to develop comprehensive and competitive project bids.Bid PreparationPrepare detailed and timely bid proposals ensuring all relevant information is included and aligned with project specifications.CollaborationWork closely with the project management engineering and procurement teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.Bid PresentationPresent and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and external clients as needed.Market ResearchStay informed about industry trends market conditions and competitor pricing to maintain a competitive edge.Cost TrackingMonitor actual project costs against estimated costs identifying areas for improvement and lessons learned for future projects.QualificationsRelevant shopfield fabrication and install experience or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering Construction Management or a related field.Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction or mechanical contracting industry.Strong understanding of shop fabrication processes and industry best practices.Proficient in using Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP or REVIT and Bluebeam.Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Familiarity with relevant codes regulations and safety standards.BenefitsMedical Dental Life Insurance Long-Term Disability Matching 401K Employee Stock Purchase Program Profit Sharing PTOEEO StatementAPi Group is an equal opportunity employer.
