Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This full-time permanent role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the construction industry and possesses a strong understanding of Retrofit, Sheet Metal, HVAC, Plumbing, Estimating, Bidding, and Budgeting, and Mechanical estimation. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be integral to our project planning process, ensuring the cost-effectiveness and financial success of our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and retrofit projects.
2. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Prepare and submit competitive project bids in accordance with customer requirements.
4. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement team to develop and refine cost estimates.
5. Participate in the presentation of project proposals to clients and stakeholders.
6. Monitor and compare actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying and explaining variances.
7. Maintain current knowledge of market trends, costs, and changes impacting the construction industry.
8. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as necessary.
9. Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate.
10. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimation, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient knowledge of Retrofit, Sheet Metal, HVAC, Plumbing, Estimating, Bidding, and Budgeting.
4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
5. Proficiency in using Estimating Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present estimates to stakeholders and clients effectively.
8. Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
