Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer (Static Equipment) to serve as the technical authority for the integrity, inspection, and lifecycle management of pressure vessels, piping, and related equipment. The role ensures compliance with ASME/API standards, leads RBI and Fitness-for-Service assessments, and approves key engineering deliverables.

 

Job Description

  • Act as the technical authority and final reviewer for static equipment engineering and integrity decisions
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and templates for static equipment engineering
  • Lead the design review of static equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, and storage tanks
  • Review and approve specifications, datasheets, drawings, and material selection
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards and regulatory requirements (ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
  • Oversee vendor document reviews, fabrication activities, and technical bid evaluations
  • Support Asset Integrity Management (AIM) frameworks and governance requirements
  • Review inspection findings, corrosion studies, and damage mechanism assessments
  • Provide leadership in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and other risk assessment activities
  • Lead Fitness For Service (FFS) assessments and provide technical direction for advanced evaluations.
  • Independently perform FFS Level 1 & Level 2 assessments
  • Possess strong working knowledge of FFS Level 3 methodologies and application
  • Develop and approve recommendations for repair, alteration, replacement, or continued operation of static equipment
  • Define inspection strategies, maintenance plans, and long-term lifecycle management programs
  • Update program with latest regulations, standards, and integrity assessment methods
  • Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
  • Provide technical support for fabrication, erection, repair, and modification activities
  • Interface with inspection, corrosion engineering, operations, maintenance, projects, and HSE teams
  • Provide technical guidance and decision support to management and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization during audits, regulatory inspections, and technical reviews
  • Mentor and guide junior and senior engineers, providing technical direction and skill development
  • Review and approve technical reports, calculations, and recommendations prepared by the team

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical integrity engineering, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining sectors
  • Expertise in Pressure vessels and piping systems, Equipment integrity, Material Selection, corrosion assessment & control, NDEs, Welding procedures and qualification reviews, Repair methods & Remaining life assessment and Fitness-for-Service Analysis
  • Proven experience working within Asset Integrity or Fixed Equipment Management programs and advanced corrosion assessment techniques
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards and practices and their application (e.g. API 510, API 570, API 579, API 580/581, ASME B31.3, ASME BPVCs, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently, adapt, and drive continuous improvement

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Preferred: API 510, API 570, API 580 certification

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $70.00 - $75.00/hr. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
