Mechanical License Qualifier & Business Qualifier

The Meridian Company is seeking a highly skilled and licensed Mechanical Contractor License Holder to join our growing team as our Mechanical License Qualifier and Business Qualifier. This is a critical leadership role responsible for supporting the company's licensing requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping drive the continued growth of our mechanical operations.

This opportunity offers flexibility for professionals who prefer a leadership-focused role, hands-on field involvement, or a combination of both.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the qualifying mechanical license holder for business operations in Michigan.
• Maintain and support licensing compliance with state and local regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all mechanical work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to field teams and leadership.
• Assist in developing and maintaining best practices, safety standards, and quality control processes.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to support business growth and expansion efforts.
• Review mechanical installations and service work to ensure quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Support training, mentoring, and development of technicians and installers.
• Participate in inspections, permitting processes, and regulatory communications as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Mechanical Contractor License.
• Ability and willingness to serve as the company's Mechanical License Qualifier and Business Qualifier.
• Must hold, at minimum, the following Michigan Mechanical Contractor classifications:
  • Classification 1 – Hydronic Heating and Cooling & Process Piping
  • Classification 2 – HVAC Equipment
  • Classification 5 – Limited Heating Service
  • Classification 7 – Unlimited Heating Service
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical industry experience in residential and/or commercial service, installation, or contracting.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan mechanical codes, permitting requirements, and industry regulations.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a license qualifier for a mechanical contracting business.
• Management or leadership experience within HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting operations.
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
• Background supporting technician development and operational growth initiatives.
