The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technicians to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of manufacturing equipment. This role supports preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts in a high-volume production environment.
Working closely with Operations and Engineering, this position ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Enforce safety procedures (LOTO, confined space, hot work)
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance
Support safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions
Lead and supervise Mechanical Technicians across multiple areas
Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to support production
Train, coach, and develop team members
Support staffing, onboarding, and performance management
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Improve uptime and equipment performance across all systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on equipment reliability
Serve as escalation point for complex mechanical issues
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures (presses, grinding systems, etc.)
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
Utilize CMMS to manage work orders and maintenance records
Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
Partner with procurement to manage parts and costs
Ensure accurate maintenance documentation
Required:
Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical or related field
5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing
2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Journeyman or skilled trade certification
Experience in heavy industrial or high-speed manufacturing
Experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and automated systems
Travel: As needed
Language: English required; German a plus
