1 Mechanical Pipe Takeoff Mod eler Job Overview : We are seeking a skilled and detail- oriented Mechanical Pipe Takeoff Modeler to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed takeoff models for mechanical piping systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical design and construction, particularly in the context of piping systems, and experience working with 3D modeling software and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools Key Responsibilities: • Pipe Takeoff Modeling : o Create accurate 3D takeoff models of mechanical piping systems, including but not limited to piping layouts, valves, hangers, supports, and equipment. o Ensure the models meet project specifications, codes, and standards, including ASME, ANSI, and others relevant to the industry. • Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams : o Work closely with pre-construction manager and VP of pre -construction to review mechanical design drawings and determine material requirements. o Provide input on potential design issues or challenges based on model takeoffs. • Modeling and Drafting : o Use BIM software (such as Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and PowerBI ) to create, update, and modify mechanical piping models as required. o Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from the models and generate reports for procurement, fabrication, and construction teams. • Quality Control and Verification : o Review takeoff models for accuracy and completeness, ensuring the models are aligned with design specifications. o Conduct clash detection and resolve any discrepancies between disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural). • Coordination and Communication : o Communicate effectively with takeoff team members, on deadlines and project statuses. • Documentation and Reporting : o Prepare takeoff spreadsheets using Power BI desktop, Excel, and CINX . o Manage revisions to takeoff models and update project estimate pricing due to changes or updates. Qualifications/Requirement s: • Education: o High School Diploma or equivalent . • Experience : o Experience in mechanical piping design, takeoff modeling, or a related field. o Hands -on experience with BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, etc.). o Experience working on large -scale construction projects in sectors such as commercial, medical, and data centers . • Skills : o Strong knowledge of mechanical piping systems, materials, and construction practices. o Proficiency in BIM tools for modeling and takeoff (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, etc.). 2 o Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ASME, ANSI, and other relevant piping specifications. o Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. o Strong attention to detail and problem -solving skills. This position works in an office setting in a team -oriented environment but may require occasional site visits to construction sites.
