JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) team at our Mount Holly, NJ office. This role involves the design, development, analysis and coordination of plumbing systems - including domestic water, sanitary, storm, fire protection, and specialty piping - for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to deliver innovative, code-compliant solutions that meet client needs and integrate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design and develop plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty piping systems
· Perform system and hydraulic calculations including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, equipment selection, and layout design in accordance with local codes and standards (IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE & NFPA)
· Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, national standards, and green building requirements (LEED, WELL)
· Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients & stakeholders
· Prepare detailed construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules)
· Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical HVAC, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless project coordination
· Assist in preparing technical reports, proposals, and engineering studies
· Assist with construction cost estimating and scheduling
· Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to verify compliance with design intent & code requirements
· Review shop drawings, submittals and requests for information during construction administration phase for adherence to design specifications
· Provide mentorship to Junior Engineers and Designers
· Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong knowledge of civil & plumbing engineering principles and practices
· Proficiency in design software: Revit, GIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Mathcad
· Experience in project management and engineering
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance
