Koch Mechanical is seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical & Plumbing Superintendent for a project located in Delta, Utah.
This position is responsible for leading all onsite mechanical and plumbing field operations, ensuring systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and company quality standards.
The Superintendent will oversee heating and cooling hydronic systems, VAV systems, air handlers, pumps, heat exchangers, domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, and gas systems.
This role requires strong leadership, proactive planning, and the ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, and field teams to maintain production schedules and meet project deadlines.
Key Job Duties
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for mechanical and plumbing systems
- Manage and direct field crews to ensure quality workmanship and productivity
- Coordinate with Project Manager regarding project needs, scheduling, and logistics
- Lead onsite coordination meetings and communicate project updates
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Pre-plan work activities to maintain production rates and meet deadlines
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Receive, inspect, and sign for material and equipment deliveries onsite
- Ensure proper installation of hydronics, VAVs, air handlers, pumps, heat exchangers, domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas systems
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce company safety policies
- Adapt to changing project needs while maintaining schedule and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Utah Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience running projects as a Superintendent on similar mechanical/plumbing projects
- Proven ability to manage crews and coordinate complex mechanical systems
- Strong leadership and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to work off ladders and lifts
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Full-time availability (40-hour work weeks minimum)
